This screen lets you import a list of customers from a CSV (comma separated values) file. Most other programs such as contact managers or accounting programs let you export data from them as a CSV file.
The first think you must do is select the CSV file to import by clicking the Select CSV File button. If the file contains field names in the first row, then check the First Row Contains Field Names box. The Column Delimiter field lets you set the delimiter used to sperate the columns in the file. The default is the | character. It may take a few moments for Plant Estimator to analysis the data and extract the field names.
Next you need to map the fields you want to import to the fields in Plant Estimator. Plant Estimator will try and map the fields for you based on their names. For example if your CSV file has a column named "Email", it will map it to the Email Address field. This will only apply if the first row in the CSV file contains field names. The fields listed on the left are the built in fields that you can map to. For each one of these fields you can select a field from the CSV file to map to it. Just select the field you want to map from the drop-down list. If you do not want to import data into a field, just select < Don Not Import >. You must at least map a field to the Last Name field.
Once you have mapped the fields you want to import, click the Import File button to begin the import.
