The custom reports screen lets you create customized versions of the reports available in Plant Estimator. Instead of customizing the built-in reports, you simply make a copy and customize it.
Please keep in mind that reports can be very complex and that the report designer is a complex tool, so you should have at least a basic knowledge of creating reports using a report designer.
Also keep in mind that custom reports only apply to the computer they are created on. So if you are using Plant Estimator on more than one computer or on a network, you will need to export your custom reports and import them on the other computers
The first thing you must do is select the Report Type from the drop-down list. This will display the reports of that type on the list on the left. To make a copy of a report, select it on the list on the left and click the Copy Report button. A popup window will ask you to enter a name for the report. Enter a name or accept the default one and click the OK button. The copied report will now show up on the list on the right.
Click the Edit Report button to edit the report in the report designer. The report designer is shown below.
To delete a custom report, select it on the list on the right and click the Delete Report button.
To export a custom report, select it on the list on the right and click the Export Report button. You will be asked to choose a location to save the report. This feature is useful if you want to share your custom reports with others.
To import a custom report, click the Import Report button. You will be asked to choose the report file. You must take care to import the report into the correct report type. This feature is useful if you have created custom reports on another computer and have exported them.
